2012 has been the year of discovery for me. I took  a gamble and followed my friend Marlene’s advice and decided to spend some time discovering East Africa. It was such a contrast in comparison to the other African countries I had visited in the past. A different style and a different attitude. The people are reserved… sometimes very quiet. But the colours! The colours are so vibrant! From the turquoise of the indian ocean to red, the signature Masai colour. But more on that later…

So London Fashion Week is upon us so I decided to check out The International Fashion Showcase. This festival is a platform for emerging designers and this year, Tanzania was representing with the likes of Chichia London, Heart 365 and Anna Luks… A taste of Swahili Flavour

Last week, I met Peter Thum and James de Givenchy who collaborated on The Phoenix Collection for Fonderie 47.
The luxury brand upports disarmament in the DRC by dismantling AK-47 and transforming them into unique pieces of jewellery. It’s quite a sensitive subject but an interesting one. More on that very soon… In the meantime here’s a glimpse of the collection.

Interesting!!!
